Description

Its Hockey Season in Phoenix so I'm renaming the Bear Claw nebula, the Coyote Paw. Lets Go Yotes! I finished up processing today to get this posted in time for the home opener tonight on the ASU campus. It will be loud.

OK, back to astrophotography. This image is kind of my conversion away from the HighStack Pro mode on the AC4040. The Narrowband taken during the lunar cycle showed solemn fixed pattern noise, despite my procedures to get accurate flats. In comparing the subs taken with HighStack Pro and High Gain modes, I really saw some residual bulk image effects creeping into HighStack because of the high lunar light background. Switching to High mode eliminated the FPN and gave better detail on the faint nebula regions.
